HISTORYIn 1985, Jay G. Snyder joined with industry veteran hotel broker, Orville W. Krieger, to form Krieger & Snyder Nationwide Real Estate taking the origins of the firm back to 1955. Mr. Krieger was one of the first hotel brokers to recognize the industry would truly be global, wherein there was no general relationship to the location of the hotel, the owner, or the operator. In the late 1990’s, Mr. Krieger reduced his involvement and later took full retirement in 2002 when the firm’s name was changed to Snyder Nationwide Real Estate, Inc.
Our firm is credited with selling the first hotel to the Pritzker family, which started the Hyatt chain and sold Kemmons Wilson’s Holiday Inns when he took Holiday Inn public and was required by the S.E.C. to divest himself of some of his personal holdings. In the mid-1980s, we developed a uniquely structured hotel lease, which resulted in numerous transactions that turned underperforming hotels into saleable assets. In the 1990s, Snyder Nationwide recognized an evolving market niche in the non-branded Luxury high-end resort, and non-branded Boutique hotel segments. We have since become leaders in the brokerage of these type of properties. PHILOSOPHYWe believe our integrity in marketing an asset is paramount. We are trustworthy and dedicated to our clients sharing with them our vast knowledge of the hotel industry having lived through various market cycles and conditions over the years and encountering numerous situations in marketing and closing transactions on hotel properties. We realize the proprietary nature of the information we are given and maintain strict confidentiality while giving accurate analysis and execution to the entire sales process.

Snyder Nationwide Real Estate markets the full gamut of hotel segments including Luxury, Upper Upscale, Upscale, and Extended Stay with our niche being the Boutique hotel segment. Our job is that of selling an operating business disguised as real estate.
Snyder Nationwide’s level of expertise delivers unparalleled results for performing and non-performing hotels, resulting in the highest possible sale prices in the industry. We have sold more of the Top 20 Performing Hotels in the U.S. than any other brokerage based on sales revenue / total dollar volume (ranked by Lodging Hospitality’s "Top 100 Performers"). In 2012, Condé Nast Travel Reader’s Choice Awards ranked over 4,000 hotels in Florida and rated the “Top 40 Resorts in Florida.” Of the Top 40, Snyder Nationwide completed transactions on the #4 (La Playa Beach & Golf Resort), and the #6 (Ocean Key Resort & Spa). Both hotels also made Condé Nast’s “Gold List” Best Hotels in the World for 2012 & 2013. Our network includes an extensive database of owners, management companies, developers, and investors through which we track the ownership of hotels across the U.S. and various other hotel data. This enables us to match buyers and sellers quickly when marketing properties. We keep current on market trends, sales, and financing options. We offer clients an evaluation of their hotel’s operation and a strategic plan for its sale, many times based on future earnings and upside potential after renovations by the new owner. Snyder Nationwide manages the entire process from the initial analysis to the completed transaction. We have successfully negotiated complicated transactions involving difficult ownership and family entities to creatively deal with tax, family and partnership situations. |
