Our History

1955

The origins of the firm go back to 1955, with former partner and industry veteran Orville W.  Krieger being one of the first hotel brokers to recognize the industry would truly become global.

Our firm is credited with selling the first hotel to the Pritzker family in 1957, which started the Hyatt chain, as well as selling many of Kemmons Wilson’s Holiday Inns when he took the company public.

1986

Jay G. Snyder joined with Orville to form Krieger &  Snyder Nationwide Real Estate. During this time, the firm pioneered uniquely structured hotel leases, which resulted in numerous transactions that turned underperforming hotels into highly valued assets.

With growing demand in the non-branded luxury and boutique resort market, Snyder Nationwide refined its focus and emerged as a national leader in this segment. Around this time, Mr. Krieger began transitioning out of the business, culminating in his retirement in 2002 and the evolution to Snyder Nationwide Real Estate, Inc.

After a successful career in commercial real estate, Mark Snyder joins the firm, bringing investment-focused strategy and ownership insight that further strengthens Snyder’s approach to complex hotel transactions nationwide.
